Diane
and Alan decided for the new bungalow option. While it is being built
on the land of their former prefab, they are living in a temporary bungalow.
Diane and Alan lived all their life on the Estate.Diane keeps a lot of
old pictures. Among them, I saw one of a Jubilee party in 1953. “I
remember of a very stimulating social life. We organised parties and
also garden competitions. |
One
of the tenants had beautiful strawberries in his garden. In his lane,
the neighbours started to compete. It was called the strawberry lane.
To be honest, Alan and Diane found it hard to leave their prefab. ‘When
the wind blows, the prefab moves, says Alan, they have come to the end
of their lives”. |
